STATE PRINCIPAL secretary, Religious Affairs, Sunanda Prasad said efforts would be made to improve the condition of Bhingaraj orphanage in the city.

She also assured that encroachment in the Vishwanath temple area would be removed as early as possible with the consent of the residents. Talking to mediapersons after holding a meeting of officers at the office of the divisional commissioner here, Prasad said the orphanage would start functioning actively soon.
“Bhingaraj orphanage will work according to the Act of 1898 and no one will be allowed to use the property for personal interest,” she said. It may be mentioned that the orphanage came into limelight after charges of gross financial irregularities. She said some people used the property of the orphanage for commercial purposes, but now no one would be allowed to do the same. She denied any controversy in the management committee of the orphanage.
However, she said politics had entered into the working of the management committee due to the alleged indifferent attitude of Bhingaraj king. Prasad said a new management committee would be soon formed to run the orphanage smoothly.
She further said the district magistrate had been appointed as the receiver of Dandi Ashram, which was functioning under the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust Council.
Prasad added that a meeting of Trust members would be held soon to take important decisions regarding beautification of the Kashi Vishwanath temple and issues related to Dandi Ashram.
Rani Bhawani and Tadkeshwar temples would also be renovated, she said. A team of officers would visit Chittor in Rajasthan to study the temples and consult artists for beautification of Rani Bhawani and Tadkeshwar temples, she said.
