Eight teams to vie for honours today

EIGHT BEST teams from across the country would compete for the semi-finals and grand finale of Eicher Skyline Quiz Contest-2006 at Abhay Prashal tomorrow. Quizmaster Amiya Pahare informed that the semi-final would be held at 9.00 am and the grand finale would begin at 11.00 am tomorrow.

EIGHT BEST teams from across the country would compete for the semi-finals and grand finale of Eicher Skyline Quiz Contest-2006 at Abhay Prashal tomorrow. Quizmaster Amiya Pahare informed that the semi-final would be held at 9.00 am and the grand finale would begin at 11.00 am tomorrow.

The winners and runners-up of each round would be allowed to contest the final round. The 2005 winner, Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School student Jaidev Bhaskaran, said that previous year’s best quizzer Ravindra Nath encouraged him to perform well.

Puja Malu of Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, who qualified the written round, stated that though there was no team from Indore in the semifinals, students were looking forward to the event.

Akshay Sharma of Brightland School (Dehra Dun) mentioned about the contribution of this quiz in developing the knowledge and potential of students. Brightland School has been a champion in Bournvita Quiz Contest also.

Shyama Basu of St Paul School also appreciated the quizzing event. Eicher Motors senior manager (Marketing) Rohit Bhan informed that around 6,000 schoolchildren are expected to witness the finals.

Rajesh Sharma of Ankit Advertising informed that the winners would get computers (by Chaitanya Institute) along with the trophy. Kalindi Builders would present a laptop to the best quiz-whiz.

All participants would win attractive prizes from Crossroads and the runners-up team would get free air tickets from Jet Airways. Event Radio Partner Radio Mirchi would provide audience gifts.
