Prem Pal (21), a Palwal resident, had gone to Malaysia on October 2, 2011 in search of jobs with his friend Sanjeev Kumar (21), a resident of Ballabgarh. Their families got a ransom call from alleged kidnappers on October 17 for the duo's release.
While Sanjeev was released and he returned to India after his family deposited around Rs 6 lakh, Prem Pal was kept hostage.

On October 27, Prem Pal’s family was asked to pay more. On Tuesday, Faridabad police control room received a call informing Prem Pal’s death in Thailand.
