“For anyone thinking that the choice of Kimi is somehow an anti-Alonso choice, I can put their minds at rest,” team principal Stefano Domenicali said.

“At Ferrari, everyone knows the interests of the team come first and only then those of the individual. Fernando is a key asset for this team and he will be for a long time. “I’m sure he is the first to be happy with a choice made to strengthen the group, because he is too intelligent not to realise that a stronger team can only be an advantage,” added the Italian. Double world champion Alonso had made clear before the appointment that he would be happy to continue with under-performing Brazilian Felipe Massa as his team mate.

Lotus’ pull a rabbit out of kimi hat!

London: Formula One ace Kimi Raikkonen’s decision to leave Lotus for Ferrari was reportedly responded to on Lotus’ official Twitter page with a photo of two rabbits, locked in a seemingly carnal encounter, with the message ‘it hurts a little bit’.

The Britain-based team has more than 290,000 followers on Twitter for which the early morning tweet, whose message implied that Raikkonen’s leaving has hurt the team, has been retweeted 10,900 times.

The report mentioned that the tweet has also been favourited by 2,269 people.
