Five soldiers die as vehicle falls into gorge

The injured have been taken to the Army hospital in Poonch.

Five army men were killed and nine others were injured, six of them seriously, when an Army vehicle rolled into a gorge in Poonch district on Monday, official sources said.

The vehicle, on its way from Mandi area in Poonch district to Jammu, skidded off the road and fell into the gorge at around 11 am, the sources said.

The injured have been taken to the Army hospital in Poonch.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Sepoy Sushil Kumar and Sepoy Roop Lal.
