"Travelling to Australia will now be a lot quicker and easier for Indian travellers, as they will no longer need to have a visa label placed in their passport," said Australian high commissioner to India, Peter Varghese, in a statement.

Instead of a visa label, the travellers will receive an electronic visa grant letter the day their visa is granted. This letter will explain all the conditions of their visa, he said.

The Australian high commission has issued guidelines concerning this new system on its website ww.india.embassy.gov.au.
