A DELEGATION of the Rajya Shikshakarmi Sangh today met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and demanded that the orders regarding the pending demands of the shikshakarmis be issued at the earliest.

The delegation led by state president Murlidhar Patidar also extended New Year greetings to the CM. The major demands of the delegation included orders regarding payment of wages for the period of strike, undertaken last year and amendment of the pay scale be immediately issued.

The Chief Minister is said to have assured the delegation that a meeting would be held soon to solve the issue of the pending demands.

The State Government has issued orders on some demands of the shikshakarmis like transfer for women and handicap shikshakarmis, appointment on compassionate ground, travel allowance, training in sports, mutual transfer, bank and insurance facilites and others.

But the major demands, including hike in pay, gratuity and pension facilities, advance increment, promotion, medical allowance and others are still pending.

Patidar said the State Government has taken a rather apathetic attitude to these demands. Patidar also expressed doubts about the efficacy of the recently constituted DP Dubey committee and its long tenure.

He said earlier, too, the Government had constituted four committees for solving the issues of the shikshakarmis, but in vain. He demanded that tenure of Dubey Committee be shortened and demands fulfilled at the earliest.

The delegation also included Raghvendra Sohgara, Rajesh Alia, Sanjay Mehta, Rajnish Chauhan and others.
