Three unidentified youths abducted a 22-year-old woman from outside her house in Mahabir colony locality of the town on Wednesday.
As per details, the incident occurred at around 12.30 pm, when the victim was coming out of her house. Her mother was about to close the main gate, when three unidentified youths forcefully pulled her inside a Hyundai I-20 car.
Some neighbours, who were in the lane, raised an alarm and intimated the police. The police reached the spot and have started investigations. The victim's mother told the police that her daughter was standing outside the house, when she was abducted.
Police said a case under Section 365 (abduction) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against three unidentified persons. Station house officer of Sabzi Mandi police station Suresh Kumar said: "A police team is investigating the case and all police check posts at exit points of the town have been alerted."
