GM launches Aveo U-VA
GENERAL MOTORS India on Thursday launched its latest Chevrolet model, the Aveo U-VA in the Indore market. The 1.2-litre Aveo U-VA has been priced slightly lower than other premium hatchback segment models – Maruti Swift and Hyundai Getz.
Company General Manager Sumit Sawhney told reporters that this was the third Chevrolet launch in the past one year and demonstrates GM’s commitment to the Indian market.
“The Aveo U-VA offers a combination of features like fuel efficiency, attractive styling, modern technology at a very competitive price,” Sawhney said. “The car has been re-engineered to meet the Indian conditions and some of the vehicle parts have been redesigned to meet local preferences.”
The company has increased the ground clearance to 188 mm, reinforced suspension, improved air conditioning and developed full chrome headlamps exclusively for India.
“The Aveo U-VA is a global product sold in Europe, North America and other parts of Asia Pacific,” said Sawhney adding that it has won several awards in the USA and China. The car, he said, was incredibly spacious and sporty in looks and has been designed by Italdesign, the famed studio in Italy. The price tag starts from Rs 3.99 lakh for the base model and goes up to Rs 4.79 lakh for the fully loaded version.
Chevrolet Spark launch soon
GENERAL MOTORS will launch its small car Chevrolet Spark sometime in the middle of this year, said Company General Manager Sumit Sawhney. The company is also working on its sport utility vehicle ‘Captiva,’ also scheduled for launch later this year.
