Residents claim that it is the second such case in the area in the past 15 days. In both the cases, the robbers applied the same modus operandi — they intruded into the houses by breaking the window grill.
A robbery had taken place in the house of one CP Jain, who lost jewellery worth Rs6 lakh and Rs60,000. He said, "I have lost my hard-earned money. Another case has come to light."
RS Jain, a social activist and resident, said, "Residents are scared. It’s high time that the police should act."
Meanwhile, the police claim that they are doing all to ensure the safety of residents in the area.
Satyender Singh, a police official in the area, said, "We have installed CCTVs in the area. Only two gates in the area are left open in the night. Our men are always on patrolling."
He added, "We want the support of residents. They need to be alert and should avoid keeping so much cash and jewellery at home."
