Illegal trafficking: Two held

Two persons have been arrested by Shevgaon taluka police, Maharashtra in connection with the illegal trafficking of girls and later pushing them into prostitution, police said on Monday.

Two persons have been arrested in connection with the illegal trafficking of girls and later pushing them into prostitution, police said on Monday.

Meena Musavat and her son Pradeep were held by Shevgaon taluka police after receiving complaint from a victim belonging to Beed district in Maharashtra.

The girl from Ambajogai was sold to Musavat for Rs one lakh by accused Madhukar Mache following which she was forced into flesh trade, she said in her complaint.

Snehalaya NGO which played an important role in exposing the racket, helped the police in tracking down the accused. A case has been registered against both the accused, police added.
