INLD protests remarks on Jats in NCERT books

NCERT's Class XII history textbook describes Jats lutere, a party spokesperson said.

Former Haryana Chief Minister OP Chautala's Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Monday protested against some 'derogatory' remarks about the Jat community in NCERT books and said they should be immediately removed.

Addressing a demonstration by party's Delhi unit in New Delhi, its leader Abhay Chautala said :"calling Jats lutere (robbers) was derogatory."

The remarks should be immediately removed and the guilty should be punished, he said.
