"I guess Arjun Singh, the then Congress CM of Madhya Pradesh alone should be held accountable," he said.

Chandraswami, in Lucknow on Wednesday, predicted instability in the country, including UP, till 2016 due to the effect of "Shani and Rahu" and claimed that the solution to the Ayodhya tangle would emerge only through dialogue.

"Discussions initiated by both the Hindus and Muslims to find a solution to the vexed temple issue are on. Talks are being held on the line I had given several years back," he claimed.

He said, "I had predicted that BSP chief Mayawati would be the Chief Minister of UP in 2007." Asked if he could predict the outcome of 2012 assembly elections too, he said, "I would do that too nearer to the polls."

Expressing his concern at the backwardness of UP, he said, "Self serving politicians are responsible for the situation that prevails in India's most populous state."
