JANMASHTAMI WAS celebrated in the city in a religious fervour. The city was covered with various types of tableaux of Lord Krishna. As soon as the clock struck 12, whole city was overflowed by the sounds of bells.

At JK temple, idol of Lord Krishna was decorated marvelously while at Kamla Tower’s DwarikaDhish Temple tableaux were made. Grand tableaux were prepared at Sanatan Dharm Temple of Kaushalpuri. Here many mythological scenes were created which left the people astonished.
Meanwhile, Shri Sanatan Dharma temple of Govind Nagar was decorated magnificently. Tableaux showing different characteristic of Lord Krishna’s life were prepared.
Other than this, many schools of the city also celebrated the festival in their own way. Students of Swaraj India Candy Plus School enacted Lord Krishna and Radha. Dr Virendra Swarup Twenty First Century School also celebrated Janamashtami with students’ enacting mythological characters.
A 21 kg cake was prepared at Radha Krishna Temple of Govind Nagar. People in very large number came to see the tableaux prepared by sculptures from Kolkata at Lal Bangla N2 Road crossing.
A massive stage was constructed here for tableaux, while a chimpanzee in a cage was the centre of attraction for children.
A heavy police force was deployed in every important place of the city.
