The house was adjourned for half an hour after PDP members walked into the well of the house, demanding a probe into Friday's incident when police and paramilitary personnel opened fire on violent groups of youth demanding release of detained Hurriyat leaders at Nowhatta in Srinagar on Friday evening.

A youth was killed and over 30 others, including six cops and a CRPF jawan, were injured in the incident.

A verbal duel between the ruling NCP and the PDP continued after the house reassembled with the PDP members resorting to slogans "guna garon ko fansi do and logon ko jawab do" (Hang the guilty and answer the public).

Later Rural development minister Ali Mohammad Sagar replied on the issue saying "please do not politicise the killings. It has happened during your (PDP) time." "Bomie (Sopore) firing incident report would be before you and you will see that we mean accountability," he said.
