IN A nail-biting contest, Yogesh Kumar Gupta was elected as the new president of Kashi Patrakar Sangh here on Sunday. Gupta got 139 votes defeating his only rival, Sushil Tripathi, (127 votes) by a margin of 12 votes in the election. The results were declared late last evening.

According to the results announced by election officer Jagat Narayan Sharma, Ashutosh Pandey (151 votes), Subhash Singh (150 votes) and Chandan Rupani (121 votes) were elected as the vice-presidents of Kashi Patrakar Sangh.
Krishna Deo Narayan Rai won the post of general secretary by securing the highest 139 votes and defeated his nearest rival Rajendra Rangappa who managed to secure 97 votes. Pawan Singh (134 votes) and Mamta Pandey (107 votes) were elected for the two posts of secretary.
Kailash Yadav won the post of treasurer on the second successive term by securing 111 votes defeating his nearest rival Deenbandhu Rai by 14 votes who got 97 votes.
Kalpna Parik (192 votes), Dr Prabha Rani (176 votes), Pramila Tiwari (176 votes), Alok Malviya (145 votes), Dayanand (129 votes), Ravindra Prakash Tripathi (121 votes), Ratan Kumar Singh (118 votes), Umesh Gupta (108 votes), Ajay Mishra (108 votes) and Jai Prakash Srivastava were elected as the Executive Council members.
Yugal Kishore Jalan was elected unopposed as the coordinator of Certification Committee. Ehsanul Haq (153 votes), Idris Ahmad (147 votes) and Munna Lal Sahani (144 votes) were declared elected as the members of Certification Committee.
