Simon Katich on Thursday became the 19th Australian batsman to be dismissed on 99 or stranded one short of the three-figure mark in Tests.

The left hander was trapped leg before by left arm spinner Murali Kartik when on the verge of recording his first century overseas in the third cricket Test against India at the VCA ground in Nagpur.
Opener Greg Blewett has fallen on 99 twice and Katich's dismissal was the 74th instance in Test history that a batsman had missed the century mark by one run.
