Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee left in Kolkata for Delhi this morning ahead of the two-day special session of the Lok Sabha to discuss the trust motion of the ruling UPA government.

Chatterjee, arrived in Kolkata from Hyderabad on Friday night to attend to his ailing elder sister after hearing about the demise of his nephew in the USA.

The speaker did not attend to any telephone calls during his stay in the city.

The two-day special session of the Lok Sabha begins from tomorrow and the crucial trust vote will be taken up on Tuesday.

The CPI(M), which has excluded Chatterjee from its party whip, has been holding its central committee meeting in the national capital to discuss the party's strategy during the trust vote.
