Maharashtra promises Red Crescent aid for Iraqis

The Maharashtra CM assured the NGO of all humanitarian assistance from the state govt. Red Crescent has been allowed to set up medical camps in Iraq.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday assured humanitarian NGO Red Crescent of all assistance for the people of Iraq from the state government.

While talking to representatives of the Red Crescent who visited his official residence Varsha on Tuesday morning, Shinde said the state will extend all possible help to the NGO which has been allowed to set up medical camps in Iraq to help the needy, an official release said.

The Red Crescent will be carrying 40 to 50 tonnes of medicines and other health related things in a special flight that will also carry a team of doctors, the release added.
