Two wheeler giant, Bajaj Auto, that enjoys a reputation for its stringent work systems, on Tuesday revealed that one of its managers, in charge of the spare parts warehouse, at its MIDC Waluj plant in Aurangabad had duped the company of over rupees one crore.
Bajaj Auto, security Manager, Pravin Chandratre, in his complaint with the Waluj MIDCS police station here said the warehouse assistant manager, Deepak Bhanudas Ghorpade, had issued delivery receipts to a number the vendors, without ever receiving the supplies that had been requisitioned from them.
Ghorpade, a resident of Sawantra Sainik colony, Nageshwarwadi, was arrested on Tuesday night after being booked under section 406, and 420 of the Indian penal code.

Bajaj officials said most of the fluke bills that Ghorpade presented to the company was for the period between July 2006 and January 2007.
"We have also learnt that Ghorpade would, he would often get the supplies unloaded at a place outside the company premises,? officials said.
