Manmohan hails B'desh Nobel achievement

Manmohan Singh showers rich praise on his "friend" and the Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on Friday congratulated Dr Muhammad Yunus on winning the Noble Peace Prize.

In a letter to Yunus, Singh said that the honour is a recognition of the contribution that he (yunus) and Grameen Bank made to the cause of peace and development.

"The revolution you have ushered in by bringing the banking system to the doors of the poor and the underprivileged has brought about peaceful social and economic transformation in the lives of millions of borrowers," Singh said.
