Militant arrested in J&K, IED seized

Security forces on Wednesday arrested an overground worker (OGW) of the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit from Kulgam district in south Kashmir.

Security forces on Wednesday arrested an overground worker (OGW) of the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit from Kulgam district in south Kashmir.

"Police in a joint operation with Army and CRPF, arrested an OGW of LeT at Laroo in Kulgam and recovered arms including an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from his possession," a police spokesperson said.

Fayaz Ahmad Lone alias Haaris was arrested from his native village based on an intelligence tip off, he said.

"On Lone's instance, police recovered a Chinese pistol, one magazine with six pistol round and an IED weighing about five kgs," he said, adding police has registered a case in this regard.
