Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a sex racket operating through the internet by arresting an alleged call girl and two pimps from a posh hotel in suburban Juhu.

The arrests, made on Saturday night by the Social Service Branch of police, were the culmination of an operation conducted over the past 15 days, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Apranti said.

Undercover sleuths established contact with a man named Abhishek Singh alias Rahul, the alleged owner of the website, on which police had come across a portfolio posted by the call girl, Apranti said.

The sleuths stuck a deal with Abhishek for the woman for Rs 15,000 for a night, he said.

They met two men in the hotel's lobby - Anand and Adit -who took them to a room where the woman was present. All three were then arrested.

Aparanti said that police are looking for Abhishek, a resident of suburban Versova.

"We suspect this to be a huge network of call girls and pimps," he said.

This is the second success in as many days for SSB against internet-based sex rackets in the city, officials said.

On Friday, police had arrested three women and a pimp from another hotel in Juhu and blocked the website on which the women had posted their portfolios.
