Nagaland chief minister T R Zeliang called on home minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi on Monday and discussed with him various issues concerning the state, including breakdown of ceasefire with major insurgent group NSCN (Khaplang).
The CM briefed the home minister on the prevailing law and order situation in the state, particularly with regard to various insurgent groups. Zeliang and Singh also discussed the issue of recent breakdown of ceasefire pact with NSCN-K and its possible implications in Nagaland, sources said.
NSCN-K had been indulging in more and more violent activities, extortion and other unlawful acts, leading to the breakdown of the ceasefire pact, sources said.
Nagaland home minister Y Patton, union home secretary L C Goyal and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
