NCP state unit president Arun Gujarathi summoned Chavan at the party office and asked her about the issue, an NCP official said.

Chavan was given a week's notice to explain her position on the issue, the official said.

Chavan had allegedly made the remarks while speaking at a function here on March 8, at a function organised by residents of Brahmanwadi, who are against redevelopment of their land by owner of Sheetal stores Dhiren Shah.
