After the uproar, the Opposition members staged a walkout during the question hour in the State Assembly.
Opposition members-Subhash Desai (Sena), Sudhir Mungattiwar (BJP), Bala Nandgaonkar (MNS), Davendra Phadanvis (BJP) who were on the forefront, squatted on the floor holding placards, demanding an apology from Rane to farmers. They said that Rane had made some derogatory remarks against the suicide committed farmers. The presiding officer time and again requested them to go back to their respective seats but they did not heed to him.
During the chaotic situation, the Deputy Speaker proceeded with the agenda of the question hour amid the uproar by Opposition members. Questions were called and the ministers concerned also gave replies but nothing could be heard in the din. Then Chavan adjourned the House for 15 minutes. Opposition members, then, staged a walkout.
When the House resumed, there was no much improvement in the situation for some more time.
