Orissa CM visits accident spot

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited the accident site of the Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Superfast Express near in Jajpur and promised all help to the injured.

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday visited the accident site of the Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Superfast Express near in Jajpur and promised all help to the injured.

"I have asked the Railway authorities to make a through probe into the very very serious accident," he told reporters and expressed deep concern over the derailment which claimed nine lives.

Patnaik also held discussions with a delegation from West Bengal on the matter and apprised them of his government's action to help the victims.

Meanwhile, the Railways has formed a high-level investigation team, headed by a senior official of the Railways Safety wing, to look into the matter.

The exact reason of the incident is yet to be ascertained.

"Things will be clear only after investigation is over," Minister of State for Railways R Velu, who also visited the accident site, said.
