PNB providing free insurance to new account owners

Punjab National bank, one of the leading banks of India is providing free insurance cover to the tune of Rs 2 lakh to all those people who are opening their saving bank account in all branches of the bank these days.

Punjab National bank, one of the leading banks of India is providing free insurance cover to the tune of Rs 2 lakh to all those people who are opening their saving bank account in all branches of the bank these days.

KR Kamat, chairman-cum-managing director of the bank, stated this on Saturday night.

He said under the programme, ATM card was being supplied to the account holder at the spot while opening the bank account.

He said the bank was doing a lot to help the farmers of the country. The bank was providing krishi credit cards and other loan facilities to the farmers to stand on their feet.

Kamat who reached here on Saturday evening held a meeting with the senior officers of the Hamirpur division and said the division had earned a net profit of Rs12.25 crore during the first quarter of the current fiscal year that was Rs 1.35 crore more than last year during the same period.

Kamat also informed at the meeting that the bank was providing free training to the people of the state to become self-reliant by adopting various vocations.
