Police had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.

Yadav was on his way to the Heritage Hospital to meet those injured in Tuesday's blasts at the Sankat Mochan temple, the site of one of the explosions, when his convoy was shown black flags by protesting BJP workers, police sources said.

Meanwhile, BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers took out processions in different parts of the city.

They also burnt Pakistani flags and shouted slogans demanding removal of Mulayan Singh Yadav from his post.
