Raja Bhaiyya rains fire to reply Babbar fume

The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya and Minister of State for Public Works Department Arvind Singh Gope flayed Raj Babbar for attacking Amar Singh and said Amar Singh had a great contribution in strengthening the Samajwadi Party. Amar Singh was a grass-root leader, they said adding Singh did not fall from above like a Skylab.
Babbar’s road to the Congress might not be as easy as he must have thought in view of his attacks on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, said Gope. Amar Singh had helped Babbar on a number of occasions, said Gope adding Amar Singh even financially helped the drama troupe of Babbar’s wife Nadira Babbar. How could Babbar forget all this? asked Gope.
If Babbar had any complaints, he should have, instead of going to press, brought them to the Chief Minister’s notice, said Raja Bhaiyya adding some Delhi-based leaders were using Babbar as a pawn to damage the SP.
Such leaders were upset over the growing popularity of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, he said asserting both the leaders remained on the forefront while fighting against ‘misrule’ of Mayawati government.
“Where was Raj Babbar at that point of time?” asked Raja Bhaiyya.
Replying to a question Raja Bhaiyya said there should be no problem for Samajwadi Party workers in meeting Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Congress distances itself
Asserting that the Congress had nothing to do with the Raj Babbar issue, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Pramod Tiwari said on Wednesday that instead of blaming the Congress for its ills, the Samajwadi Party should set its own house in order. Tiwari said the Raj Babbar issue was an internal matter of the SP.
The Congress had no role in it as Raj Babbar himself had brought the issue to public platform. He said the SP was in the habit of blaming the Congress for all ills. Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) organisation incharge Satyadev Tripathi, who was also present, said the SP had inherent contradictions and the Raj Babbar issue was a fall-out of the same.
Tiwari said the state Congress had decided to accord a warm welcome to Union Minister of State for Steel Dr Akhilesh Das when he arrived here on February 11.
