"Rajkumar's critical parameters have stabilised and he has made excellent recovery," his personal physician Dr Ramana Rao said.

The 78-year-old actor was admitted to Wockhardt Hospital early Monday morning and was put on medications for angina and lung congestion, following which his condition improved considerably, Rao added.

"Looking at his progress over the last 24 hours, we expect Rajkumar to be discharged from the hospital in the next two days," said Dr KS Satish and Interventional Cardiologist Dr Ranganath Nayak, who are treating the veteran actor.

Rajkumar has acted in over 200 Kannada films and has been conferred with several prestigious titles and awards, including the Padma Bhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke award.
