Roongta is new SAIL chairman

Shares of the state-owned SAIL were trading at Rs 75.80, down 0.59 per cent on the BSE on Friday.

State-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) on Friday, said S K Roongta has been appointed as the Chairman of the company following a Government of India order.

Pursuant to the order of the government, Roongta, Director (commercial) of the company, has assumed charge as Chairman with effect from August 17, SAIL informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 75.80, down 0.59 per cent on the BSE on Friday.
