A Sub Divisional Magistrate, during whose tenure water supply from here to Delhi was suspended by agitating Jat community members demanding reservation in government jobs earlier this month, has been transfered, officials said on Monday.

Modinagar SDM Pushpa Debrar, who joined two month back, has been transfered to Hapur, they said.

Gyanender Singh, a 1999 batch PCS officer, from Aligarh district has been appointed as the new Modinagar SDM.

After taking charge as Modinagar SDM on Monday, Singh said he would ensure that incidents of suspending water supply or taking law in one's hands do not happen again in future.

DM R Ramesh Kumar and three other police officials were earlier transfered following the water suspension incident, the officials said.
