Police said that with these arrests, a total of seven members of the gang have been arrested. They said efforts were on to arrest two absconding members of the gang.

The gang, most active on the Delhi-Jaipur highway, had collected about Rs 60,000 by murdering their victims, the officials said. Its members would offer lift to people and would murder them after looting them of their belongings.

"The estimate of money looted by the gang could increase as the investigations are carried out further," said Hanif Qureshi, senior superintendent of police.

He said Pramod, the kingpin of the gang, was arrested Tuesday along with Rohtas, Lalit, Mukesh and Ravi.

Qureshi said police had also nabbed Vikram and Harkesh, members of the same gang.
