The TRS dissident leaders including, J Balakrishna Reddy and Y Srinivasa Reddy, joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and state Congress president D Srinivas.

“The TRS chief betrayed the people of Telangana. We have full confidence that Congress would deliver separate Telangana. Before that, development of Telangana needed to be ensured. The Congress government can ensure that,” Balakrishna said.

Welcoming the TRS leaders into the Congress fold, the Chief Minister said the Congress is not opposed to the formation of Telangana.

Meanwhile, Praja Rajyam suffered a setback as senior leader Goud quit the party and announced his decision to rejoin Telugu Desam.
