Single Mother and Debts
A picture of a waterfall in bedroom is not auspicious as the `water` is taboo in bedroom, writes Feng Shui Master Mohan Deep.
My last column about the debt-trap of Henry brought me a huge mail from people having the same problem, and I hope Feng Shui will help them all to tear the credit cards. But Henry is not the only one who Feng Shui helped. I have received an e-mail from Alice that warmed my heart. Before I quote from the letter, here is it from the start.

Alice, a single mother, was in a worse predicament than Henry when she wrote to me six months back. As Mabel, her cute 4-year-old daughter would go to sleep and she would switch off the lights. In the darkness, the stifling fears would crowd her. The ghosts of the past, when she fell madly in love with James only to learn a little later that he was a cheat, haunted her for hours before she could get a decent sleep. James was already married and despite glib promises, had no intention of divorcing his wife and two school going children. Alice was expecting.
Partly because of her Catholic upbringing and also because her gynecologist spelt out the risks in the fourth month of pregnancy, she decided to have her baby.
"I am deeply in debts and have no support line. I have often thought of giving her up to the church orphanage and kill myself, or to start anew. But I don't have the heart to abandon the little baby which I have brought into this harsh world.
I want love. I want support. I want love for myself, for my baby. And most important, I need money. Please help me," Alice wrote.
I gave her Feng Shui consultation. My notes show that the family sector in her house was absent and she had placed refrigator and drinking water in Southwest. Worse, she had a large framed picture of a waterfall in her bedroom. The `water` is taboo in bedroom, had to go. I also suggested Double Happiness Symbol, Dragon and fish tank in the wealth sector. Seeing that she was not willing to acquire a fish tank I suggested that she places the framed waterfall, discarded from the bedroom, in the money corner.
And I forgot about her till today when I received this mail from her.
Hi Mr Mohan Deep,
I have been a regular reader of your column from the day I consulted you. The consultation was a great success. I often thought of writing to you but the hectic activity - my career and love life - didn't give me enough time. The story of Henry's debts has prompted me to write to you.
When I consulted you I didn't give you all the gory details but James (my ex) was worse than Henry. He had borrowed money from every one. He had got me involved as a co-borrower though, legally, I wasn't his wife. After he left me literally `holding the baby`, his creditors started hounding me. It was a nightmare.
The creditors were abusive and insulting, some even suggested that I `pay them in kind`. Feng Shui was my last resort. I couldn't afford the original oil painting of the Dragon and helplessly settled for a print. But God was with me. Even the print did wonders. I did all you said and prayed.
The help came from familiar quarters but was totally unexpected. Calvin, my boss, caught me crying. I was crying as, in the morning that day, I had a tiff with the neighborhood girl who doubled as a baby sitter. He escorted me to my house, had a cup of coffee and happily joined us for dinner. It was after dinner that he poured out his feelings for me. He was in love with me and was willing to accept me with my baby! The `impossible` had happened.
