Civil surgeon Dr Madhavrao Munde told PTI that a special ward has been set up in the hospital for patients suffering from fever, cough and cold .
He appealed to the people not to panic and assured that there were sufficient medicines available at the hospital.
A large number of students from Ahmednagar live in Pune for education and many of them have been coming back following closure of schools and colleges in Pune.
Many schools in Nagar declared on Tuesday that they would also remain closed for few days.
Two of the suspected persons admitted to civil hospital have been identified as Nitin Harel (20) and Abdul Khan (46). while Nitin is a resident of Ahmednagar while Abdul is from Pune.
In case of Nitin Harel the civil hospital staff and doctor showed total negligence for three days and it was after the intervention of the local MLA Anil Rathod and the district collector that Harel was admitted. The civil surgeon has ordered enquiry into the case.
