Sonia Gandhi, LK Advani call on Bush

Both Gandhi and Advani are understood to have discussed bilateral relations and international issues with Bush.

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition LK Advani on Thursday separately called on visiting US President George W Bush in New Delhi.

Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma and former Indian Ambassador to US Karan Singh accompanied Gandhi to the meeting.

US Ambassador to India David Mulford and Indian Ambassador to US Ronen Sen were present at the meetings with both the leaders.

Both Gandhi and Advani are understood to have discussed bilateral relations and international issues with Bush.

Advani is also understood to have recalled his visit to the US as deputy Prime Minister and the then Prime Minister AB Vajpayee's visit and interactions with the American top brass.
