"I will convene the assembly session soon. By the grace of god, I will win the vote of confidence," Soren told reporters in Giridih.

The Chief Minister claimed that he had the support of a Left party and some independents, but did not identify the independent MLAs supporting him.

Under attack over his controversial decision to swear in Soren, Razi, after a meeting with President APJ Abdul Kalam following a summon, announced in Delhi that he would advance the date for trial of strength in the assembly before March 21 deadline given to the new Government.

Claiming that the independent NDA MLAs, who were paraded before President APJ Abdul Kalam, were under pressure, Soren said, "Their families are crying. They are saying, is it a sin to win the elections that they are confined?"

Asked whether the families of the independent MLAs have lodged any FIR, Soren, however, said that he was not aware of it.

He blamed the NDA for rising extremist activities in the state.

The Chief Minister announced that his Government would honour all the martyrs of the Jharkhand movement and give employment to one member of each of their families.

Claiming that the previous NDA government had failed to provide proper roads and drinking water in the state, Soren said that his Government would give priority to these sectors, besides giving red cards to the below poverty line people.

Soren said that just before the elections, his predecessor Arjun Munda had distributed BPL cards imprinted with his photograpgh. Munda had to withdraw the cards following a directive from the Election Commission.
