Her mortal remains were shifted to her native place of Malerkotla, in Chandigarh, for the final rites. Her death was widely mourned in the state. The High Court Personal Staff Welfare Association (HCPSWA) held an extraordinary meeting on Thursday to condole with the chief justice.
The office bearers and the members of the association expressed their grief and deep sorrow over the demise. They also prayed for the departed soul.
They described the departed soul as "kind, noble and pious". "She by dint of hard work and able inspiration has succeeded in shaping the destiny of her children," said the association members.
Tasaduq Qadri, senior member of the association, also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength to bear the loss.
BOX Chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday condoled the sad demise of the mother of chief justice of the state High Court Justice MM Kumar, and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. The chief minister visited Justice Kumar's residence and expressed his sympathy and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
