Change is a must and it is the way of life. One who resists change invites trouble. Trying to retain the status quo could mean an end to any kind of progress.

Adam R Gwizdala says," Everything in life changes you in some way. If you do not accept these changes, you do not accept yourself. For, through these changes, life brings new and greater things to you, making you wiser. You live your life only once. Do not waste a minute of it avoiding things.”

Change mainly is of two kinds: One that you bring in and the other that takes place naturally. The first happens with those who are creative and bold. They take risks and succeed in life and become iconic figures. And the second kind of change happens with all of us. You are better off if you face it, or else you keep on grumbling that life has been cruel to you.

Aristotle says change in all things is sweet. What he means is that change will happen and one has to look at the positive aspects, ignoring the negative ones. If you go deeper into a change that apparently looks like 'not good for you' kind, you will see the end result could be a good one. That is why you have the saying, "A blessing in disguise".

Recently I visited the flood-hit areas of Ladakh which took a toll of over 300 lives and almost flattened over a dozen villages last year in August. Some parts of Leh city and a nearby village, Choklamsar, destroyed by the cloudburst floods, have come up as if nothing had happened. Instead of the shanty and crumbling buildings featuring these areas, you have now new buildings with modern, elegant look.

It is not to say it was good that the floods happened. The point is there is a positive element in every misfortune; and if one looks from this point of view, one would be grateful that all is not lost. There is still hope; and change, however bitter in he beginning, ends with a sweet note.
