The cause of the fire on Sunday at a farm remains unknown, said Dan Reif, chief of the local fire company.

About three-quarters of the 90-by-15 metre chicken house was burning when fire fighters arrived, Reif said.

Fire fighters let the fire burn itself out while preventing the flames from spreading to surrounding fields, Reif said.

The chickens had just been placed in the structure the day before, Reif said.
