Some of the powerful crackers stocked in the factory went off suddenly due to electric short-circuit in which Mohammed Azad (32), owner of the factory, his wife Tabbasum Nisha (30) and daughter Munni (2) were blown to pieces, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Bikramganj) Upendra Singh said.

The badly-charred bodies beyond recognition were brought to Sadar hospital for post-mortem.

The injured were being treated at a government hospital in Sasaram, they said.

An investigation was on, sources added.

The incident came a day after seven members of a family including four women, were killed and four injured when explosives meant for making fire crackers stocked in a house caught fire in Bihar's Jehanabad district on Saturday, police said.
