Tigress killed in Panna National Park

The carcass of the tigress was found on Tuesday in the park's Badore sector.

A tigress, aged about 6 years, was killed allegedly by poachers in the Panna National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

The carcass of the tigress was found on Tuesday in the park's Badore sector. The cause of its death was being ascertained, Park Director Shahwaz Ahmed has said.

On May 5 also, the carcass of a tiger cub was found in the Park and its samples sent to ascertain the cause of death.

The presence of poachers in the park area came to light after they allegedly threatened some Park officials recently. Subsequently, the higher-ups in the state capital were informed and they held meetings with Park officials also.
