Ashley Tisdale won the female best breakthrough award for High School Musical 3: Senior Year while Miley Cyrus received the best song prize for The Climb, from Hannah Montana: The Movie.
Comedian Ben Stiller was given the MTV Generation Award for his body of work which includes Zoolander, There's Something About Mary and Meet The Fockers.
