Two detainees escape from lockup; 4 policemen suspended

"Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh of Kulgam district and Tariq Ahmad Mathanji of Srinagar fled from custody in police station M R Gunj during the intervening night of March 14-15," a police spokesman said.

He said the duo was taken into custody by police as they were allegedly involved in a case related to burglary.

A fresh FIR has been registered against them and a massive hunt launched to nab them, the spokesman added.
