Two militants killed by Army in Kupwara, encounter still on

Two militants have been killed in an encounter with security forces in Kupwara district of north Kashmir today. The militants hiding in the area opened fire on the joint search party and in the ensuing encounter two militants were killed.

Acting on a tip off, police assisted by army cordoned off Satkoji near Zachaldara, 80 kms from Srinagar, and a police spokesman said.

The militants hiding in the area opened fire on the joint search party and in the ensuing encounter two militants were killed.

A search operation is going on in the area, he added.
