Sarvesh Kumar, 27, was waiting in the vehicle after dropping the car owner, Mukesh Tuli, a senior company executive.
Around 11pm, a man approached Kumar and asked for a light. When Kumar said he did not smoke the man went away, only to return minutes later.
“He knocked on the car window. The moment I rolled down the window, he hit my head with his revolver. Then he dragged me out, snatched the car keys and fled with the car,” alleged Kumar. He added, “I rushed to inform the security guard of Beverly Park. The police arrived within 20 minutes.”
Kumar said his mobile phone, driving licence and wallet containing R4,500 were also in the car.
“My police verification card was also in the car, besides my house and bike keys along with the documents of the car,” said Kumar.
Investigating officer Yashvir Singh of DLF Phase-2 police station said they were investigating the matter and the robbers would be nabbed soon. Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged at the DLF City Phase 2 police station.
