Ugandan victim is here for medical treatment

Though they refused to divulge the precise disease she was suffering from, senior officers associated with the investigation confirmed the same and said they would write to the Ugandan Embassy to seek a clarification on the issue.
"We are in the process of confirming the same. At the moment, however, her immediate medical condition is our top priority," said an officer, adding that doctors treating her told them that she had several injuries on her face and upper body, pointing at a violent scuffle between her and the four accused.
According to the police, the victim's ordeal had begun almost immediately after the vehicle which she was lured aboard crossed the Gurgaon border.
She found herself sandwiched between two of the accused men who began making unsolicited sexual advances which she objected but was attacked for resisting.
"This was unfolding as the driver of the vehicle, Gangandeep, took the vehicle round and round the Chhatarpur area to dodge police deployment in the form of pickets on the main roads," said the officer.
The vehicle came to a stop on NH-8 - not far from the spot where the couple victimised in the brutal gang rape of December 16 had been dumped - only after the victim's screams for help got shriller by the second.
As she was being dumped however, the police said, she successfully managed to pull out one of the accused with her and made a police call.
Eagle-47 (E-47) - the same PCR vehicle which had received flak for not being able to perform its duty efficiently during the December 16 gang rape - had come to her aid and rushed her to the AIIMS Truma Centre.
