The country is facing serious threat not only from cross-border terrorism but also from Naxalism, but the government has adopted a "soft approach" towards the twin security challenges, BJP General Secretary Anant Kumar alleged.

Kumar, in-charge of Madhya Pradesh affairs, was addressing the opening session of the two-day State BJP Executive meeting in Ratlam.

Referring to yesterday's Naxal attack on CRPF personnel in neighbouring Chhattisgarh, he said both Union Home Ministry and Defence Ministry were unable to take a decision on taking Army's help for curbing the menace.

Kumar said while Pakistan is engaged in a proxy war with India in Jammu and Kashmir, the Manmohan Singh Government was busy holding dialogue with Islamabad.

The BJP strongly condemns the UPA Government's policy towards Pakistan, he said.
